In November 2024, shipments of foreign-brand smartphones in China reached just 3.04 million units, compared to 5.769 million units during the same period last year, marking a sharp 47.4% year-on-year drop. This marks the fourth consecutive month of decline for foreign smartphone manufacturers.

Data from October 2024 also showed a year-on-year shipment decrease of 44.25%, highlighting the continued downward trend. Apple, the leading foreign smartphone manufacturer in China, is grappling with dual challenges: an economic slowdown and fierce competition from domestic brands.
In Q2 2024, Apple temporarily dropped out of the top five smartphone suppliers in China. Although it recovered in Q3, its sales still registered a slight year-on-year decline of 0.3%.
